Are you pro-life?

To answer this question, you would need to define what being “pro-life” is.
Unfortunately there have been many definitions of pro-life over the decades following the Roe V Wade decision (and before that, really), and most of them lack the necessary components to actually end abortion. But, as Christians, we are called to have no other standard but God and His word. While some aspects are good, some fundamental ones are missing.

What being “pro-life”  should  include:

Abortion must be called murder

As Christians, we cling to God’s word as truth. We cannot allow God’s word to be overridden by any other source, including many emotionally-charged pro-life leaders out there today who would beg you not to be too “offensive.”
God clearly teaches us that the killing of an unborn child is murder (Exodus 21:22-25), and the punishment for murder is death (Exodus 21:23, Genesis 9:6, Leviticus 24:17).

Given that God’s word tells us that killing a baby is murder regardless of how that baby was conceived, we have to ask ourselves: Is there ever an acceptable reason for murder?
Absolutely not, which bring us to the next point…

There can be absolutely no exceptions for abortion

A better way to put this point is: There can be absolutely no exceptions for murder.
Yes. This does mean that we must wholeheartedly oppose abortion, including those commonly mentioned exceptions like rape, incest, and life of the mother.

The killing of an unborn child is always murder, since the unborn child is always innocent.
Therefore; the killing of an unborn baby, regardless of how that unborn baby came to be, is murder.

Now, please do not confuse “to murder” with “to kill.” God gives provision for taking the life of another if it is in the extreme cases of self-defense, and commands the governing authorities to execute criminals convicted of certain harsh crimes, like murder. This is of course an entirely different topic, but I want to make sure these terms are differentiated to anyone reading this.

I believe this is one of the major reasons abortion remains legal today in America. We stopped calling abortion “murder” in order to hopefully not offend women as they “consider their options.” When we don’t take a solid stand on what abortion really is, we will allow our self-proclaimed pro-life politicians and leaders to write unrighteous decrees that only regulate the details of how the murder takes place, while making sure they DO allow it to take place.

If we compromise our Christian belief as well as plain moral principle on the abortion holocaust, God will never bless our efforts in abolishing the most abominable evil of our day. We must draw a line in the sand for our preborn neighbors, the least among us. It is our duty before a holy God, who has heard the blood of over 60 million babies cry out from the ground for over 44 years, to rescue them (Proverbs 24:11). The first step in fixing any problem is recognizing the root of the problem, and so I hope this encourages you to take a solid stance in your own life.
